Innate Talent, Good Natured, Confident |
Liza grew up with horses in her backyard and loved them from the beginning. While her mother rode English, she was exposed to both western and english riding from a young age. Liza attended Bearded Dog Farms summer camp for four summers starting when she was 8. These learning opportunities improved her horsemanship, riding skills and introduced her to the Monty Roberts horse communication methods. In addition, she was exposed to dressage, eventing, drill team, vaulting, and acrobatics.
In high school, Liza got her first horse, Marty. This ex barrel racer taught her patience and the challenge of working with a horse that did not want to jump. She started competing Marty in eventing. When her sister left for college she inherited her horse, an OTTB named Noble Jones (MJ). Liza and MJ hit it off. They competed throughout the midwest advancing through Novice then Training level, schooling Preliminary, and participated in Junior Young Riders events and teams. In her senior year Liza competed M J at First Level at the Kentucky Horse Park, ending the season winning her classes with a good scores of 70%, thus discovering her true love, dressage!
In order to concentrate more fully on dressage a second dressage horse, Davido (Dani) was purchased. Liza struggled with Dani and was frustrated with their lack of communication and trust. Looking for a way to improve her dressage skills and experience, Liza began an internship with Kaiser Dressage in the summer of 2022. Both Liza and Dani have made excellent progress. Now with improved patient, consistent techniques their partnership has blossomed.
Liza has a confident can-do attitude, strong work ethic and positive attitude. These attributes coupled with coaching and diligent practice has been rewarding. Under the Kaiser’s tutelage, not only has her partnership with Dani grown but also her ability to communicate and train a wide variety of other horses, from unstarted youngsters to Advanced mounts.
As her skills improve and positive experiences increase, Liza’s natural confident demeanor is bolstered. An aptitude for the Competition arena more fully developed in 2022. Her accomplishments were significant, successfully showing Dani Training and First Level dressage. She was High Point in Training Level at her first show and qualified for USDF Regionals at her second show. She was awarded IDS 2022 Reserve Champion at Training Level.
Liza values the time and energy she gets from the Kaisers and appreciates the encouraging environment at FHFarm. She finds the opportunity to work with all types of horses, teach students and compete under the tutelage of the Kaiser’s motivating. She looks forward to increasing her participation and advancing her knowledge and skills |
